Hey, Alex. I peek into your site every so often and am always impressed by the work you put into it. The Geese shots from last September are lovely, as are the recently added Kurokawa ones. The flower domes framing that building are gorgeous.

Hi, I'm Edmond, a social worker from Singapore. I would like to know if it is possible for me to obtain the original softcopy of Angkor Wat Again 017.jpg from you as part of my centre's efforts to raise funds to send an expedition team to Cambodia for social work in Dec 2005. Please contact me at my email address.
Thank you!

Hi Alex,

I'm glad you're Ok and that you found such beautiful things in Sri Lanka. Your pictures are amazing!!! It's a lot nicer looking at your photos than looking at the snow covered prairies. You have brought hope and happiness to my otherwise dull wintery days. Stay safe and good luck on your next adventure.

Alex
This is RedHot5 from the SC. I hope I am addressing whimperIII and not another Alex Meeres who happens to be in Japan at the same time as the Alex I know as well. If I am, please ignore this message.

We are waiting to hear something from you since you haven't posted in the SC since the tidal wave hit and we knew you were taking a visit to Sri-Lanka.

Email me or post in the SC so we know you are ok.

The big furry spikey brown ones are about 3x4cm in the body, with a circular leg-span of about 10cm. So, about the same as the palm of your hand. They don't spin webs, but rather run and jump to hunt down prey.

The yellow and black stripey ones are 5cm long, but skinny. Their leg-span is about 8cm, front to back, but not very wide. They don't move too quick. They're much scarrier for their webs, though, which are incredibly strong, and span the spaces between trees. It's not unusual for a web to be 2-meters wide or more, with twigs and leaves hanging in them.

Please tell me that all those spiders were a lot smaller than they looked in the pictures!! I can't go to Japan if there are giant spiders!!!!

The pictures are all superb. Photos of a site taken by others there at the same time often offer a totally different perspective. Nice to take the tour again!

Hi Alex

Thanks for visiting my gallery. Like you, I miss Japan and want to go there again.

It seems that you are obsessed with the country. You took a lot more photos there than in your home country, as far as I see in your galleries. I particularly enjoy watching the 'Japlish' one. And your fireworks images are just exceptional.
