Winter scenes, Inskip, Calif. December 23, 2010

A couple of times each winter, I roll 18 miles up the Skyway from our house to Inskip, population 2, to view the Sierra winter scene at 4,800 feet. On Dec. 23, the landscape had a modest foot-and-a-half of snow on the ground - with much more promised to pile up over the winter. But it still proved a lovely place to click a few pictures. The upper portions of the Skyway are thickly tree-lined. Here's one of the few long-distance peeks the road allows.
