Miocene Canal trail, West Branch Feather River, near Paradise, CA, April 6, 2014

On Sunday morning, April 6, 2014, my friend Tim and I took a healthy jaunt on a part of the flumes of the PG&E-maintained Miocene Canal trail along the West Branch Feather River just to the east of Paradise, Calif. While, I typically hike on the Hendricks Canal flumes above DaSabla, this trail is quite dramatic with its views and narrow catwalks, and the water of the Feather River's West Branch was flowing with lots of power, thanks to the good month of rain and snow we had in March.
