This fireworks display over the Victoria Harbour on Oct. 1 is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. The day before the event, it was still raining hard in Hong Kong, there were talks about postpone, fortunately the weather turned into sunny when the day came. I prepared myself to get to Harbor area 4 hours earlier (~4pm) to find a good spot. It turned out 4pm is not that early at all, a big crowd had already gathered along harbor sides, thanks to a nice senior who shared part of his shooting area with me.
It is estimated with around 350,000 people gathered on both sides of harbor. Event itself is just fabulous, sparkling fireworks with explosion sounds and background music made people feel pump-up, 4 hours waiting is worthy for this 23 minutes excitement. I got some shots, please enjoy it. -Alan T.
