Images from two visits. The first (pictures are from the third row to the bottom of the page) was in September 2007. The weather was mostly gray and rainy. I was only there for a few days and working most of the time. I was disappointed at being unable to get out of Anchorage to see - and photograph - some of the surrounding area (which I've done before, but only in pre-digital days), but I've posted a few shots of Anchorage itself, mostly in and around the downtown area.

My 2010 visit was also for business - a meeting of the AAAS Arctic Division. The weather was beautiful, at least until the fog rolled in. It was bright and sunny and in the mid-60s much of the time. The 2010 pictures, which appear in the top two rows of the gallery, are from the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and Potter Marsh.
