160102_061031_0107 Emissions, Austinmer Beach (Sat 02 Jan 16)

Austinmer Beach, Illawarra, NSW

In the far distance on the left, twin plumes of steam (not smoke, just water vapour) rise above the steel works. (I've never seen it in that arrangement before.)

Much closer to home, the sea blasts itself up against the rock shelf creating a rather spectacular spray.

Neither of these concern the birds on the beach, the two flying above, the woman walking towards the rock pool, or the guy who has an even hairier back than mine who is about to climb into the pool.

It is surreal with the factory in the background contrasting with the beautiful ocean scene. Your timing is superb to catch the waves and the people. No one seems to care that there are smoke stacks putting fumes into the atmosphere. V

You certainly timed that well Alan, what a magnificent spray!

Nicely composed.... and I am still chuckling about the hairy back!

An interesting horizon line with a theme carried by the emission plumes and the trees. LOL about the hairy back too.
