Not to wish to start any hardware wars, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't smile and nod when I saw this poster. (But hey, don't worry mobile phone shooters; "Flickr Loves You" 8^> ) As it happened, though, I had the wrong camera with me.

My Olympus E-P1 has been feeling a bit neglected of late; for a lot of this year it was taking a shot almost every day, but lately it's been on leave. Nothing wrong with the Olympus, but after breaking my PAD run I wound back a bit (OK, a lot) in part because before I do a download I need to clear some old shots off the hard drive first. And that's getting tedious.

Anyway, as a result I haven't been carrying the Olympus so I pulled out ye olde 300D for this one, since that's been even more neglected. I had no idea who this poster was for, so when I went back and punched it into the browser where did I land?

"The Olympus PEN range offers..."

I trust that I don't offend anyone by this, especially iPhoners. Personally I don't care for the Control Freak From Cupertino or his wares (from an engineering point of view the iPod would have to be the most overrated device... pretty much ever), but hey, whatever works. And if you don't have a real camera, then a shot from an iPhone or an Android would have to be better than nothing.

A Windows phone, not so much. With the brain dead design of those things you'd probably have to upload the image to Hotmail before you could see it... I mean seriously, who designs a phone which cannot interface basic data via USB port? Especially with their own software like Outlook? I don't want a camera on my 'phone. For me, it's a waste of space. I do want an organiser on my phone which will sync, fully, completely and in a cloud-free fashion, with my desktop one. Instead, we get pretend cameras. Sigh, the world has gone barking mad... although occasionally you get a dose of realism as shown here.
