Yippee, I've caught up with my PAD postings again! For the moment.
We went along to the Opera House to see a performance by Tim Minchin, a wild haired singer / comedian who was accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. A good time was had by... probably most if not all, I think. I didn't see any unhappy faces or seats that weren't filled after the intermission.
While I was waiting on the Opera House forecourt for the parking duties to be completed in the underground labyrinth, there was some very interesting light happening. As is always the way, sometimes you don't get any shots which are really PADable so you make do, sometimes you get several which would normally qualify so you have to pick one. For example there was another shot, similar to this one but with a more dramatic sky. There were two with double rainbows over the opera house. There was another, taken earlier in the evening at Pyrmont, which featured illuminated red balloons against a dark and stormy background.
(These are in my Miscellaneous Sydney gallery if you're interested.)
The reason that I opted for this one was because there seems to be a bit more vibrancy in the people, notably the girl on the left. I can't claim complete foresight on this one; because I was using the Olympus (no holding it up to your eye to brace it) and the light was fading I had to be particularly careful of camera shake, so I was operating on a 2 second timer release. Still, I was pretty satisfied with the result.
