Visual blight - Illegal promotional sign on the I-75 exit to the southbound Palmetto Expressway #6274

State DOT land in Hialeah, FL

One of seemingly thousands of signs, mini-billboards, banners, etc. that are erected annually months in advance for this festival on public owned roadways and right-of-ways in Miami-Dade County. The Calle Ocho and Scottish Festivals don't abuse public land like this. Why does this particular festival have to illegally post their signs and banners all over town on public land?

After years of displaying the Colombian festival and numerous other events at this site, the Florida Department of Transportation removed the illegal sign supports and framework a few weeks after this festival and hopefully more signs will not be erected.

Yes, that has puzzled me too even though I never get stuck in the traffic backups because I don't drive during peak periods. It's crazy. I believe the ramp will be expanded under the huge I-75 improvements program that they've been holding public meetings about recently. I think I read that the Palmetto will have one lane added down to NW 122nd Street to accommodate the additional exit lane.

Of vastly greater concern to me is why, after all of these years, the I-75 exit ramp to the southbound Palmetto is STILL only a single lane, with traffic backing up for a mile on I-75, cars cutting in from non-exit lanes, etc., etc., etc.
