The DC10 was delayed half a day and not a normal overnight aircraft. The long-term leases on Concourse G, held by United, Northwest, Air Canada and TWA, expired in the fall of 1986 and the gates reverted back to airport-controlled common use gates. American and Continental were sub-leasing gates on the concourse from Northwest at the time.
After Pan Am died on December 4, 1991, United took over some of the international routes and moved to Concourse F, formerly used by Pan Am, in January 1992.
