American B727-223 Adv on short final approach to runway 12 at MIA with storm clouds behind it. This photo was illegally used (stolen from airliners.net) as background on the "last AA B727 flight certificates" that were distributed to passengers on one of American's last B727 flights in April 2002, and used on a display board at the gate area of the supposed last flight. The display board photo, by an aviation photographer friend on board the "official last flight", recognized the photo on the display board and took a photo for me. The display board photo is displayed at http://www.pbase.com/airlinerphotos/image/46468746 . Of course American refused to pay licensing rights because "one of their pilots" lifted the photo on his own to use on the display board and boarding certificates.

Actually, another American B727 made a revenue flight later that evening flying back to MIA from TPA so that the aircraft could participate several days later at the 2002 Air & Sea Show on Ft. Lauderdale beach.
