Delta Air Lines DC-7B N4890C (c/n 45354) (ship #720) at 3,000 feet northbound over the Palmetto Expressway in NW Dade County shortly after takeoff from Miami on June 30, 1961, enroute to Chicago Midway airport with stops at West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Atlanta and Cincinnati. Our shadow is on the ground under the #2 engine prop spinner.
This aircraft was delivered to Delta on 1/7/58 and put into service on 1/19/58. It was withdrawn from service by Delta on 9/27/67 and sold to BMR Aviation on 3/31/68. A friend of a friend's (Hank Todd) father was killed flying sister ship N4891C on 11/15/59.
