2004: after a couple months of preparation and maintenance, Legendary Airliners flew former Eastern DC-7B N836B from St. Paul, Minnesota to Peachtree DeKalb Airport on August 7th, 2004. Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts and former Eastern employees toured the aircraft which still has the original seating and interior. On August 8th Juan Carlos Gomez and crew flew the DC-7B from Peachtree DeKalb to Opa-locka Airport in NW Dade County where it will be restored to former Eastern Airlines livery.

Legendary Airliners was established by co-founders Juan Carlos Gomez and Marc Wolff with a common vision of preserving and restoring some of the world's most historic airliners and enabling aviation enthusiasts internationally to enjoy them as attendees at air shows.

2008: on December 21, 2008, the restored DC-7B was the star at an Open House at Opa-locka Executive Airport and there are some photos below of that great event. The Historical Flight Foundation's website is at http://www.HistoricalFlightFoundation.com .

2009: on June 18, 2009, Juan Carlos Gomez started the engines in N836D for the first time since it arrived at Opa-locka almost 5 years before. Those photos are at the bottom of this gallery. Roger Jarman also shot videos of the engine startups and they are located at:

2010: N836D's first flight was on July 4, 2010; the second flight was on July 23rd (photos below) and the third flight was on the evening of July 24th. The fourth flight (photos below) was the trip with passengers to the EAA's Airventure at Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 25, 2010. The fifth flight was at Oshkosh on July 29th with FAA Administrator Babbitt, Captain Sullenberger and F/O Stiles onboard.
