Swamp Cypress, Contre-jour

Hampton Plantation, South Carolina

Early morning light, contre-jour.

Taxodium distichum (Baldcypress, Bald Cypress, or Swamp Cypress),
here seen in an unusually dry cypress swamp in current drought conditions.
The 'normal' water level can be seen as a white band on several trees.

Rolleiflex K8T3, Zeiss Tessar 1:3.5 ƒ=75mm, Fuji Neopan 400

Neopan 400 exposed at 320, developed in Ilfosol 3, 1+9,
for 6 mins at 20C after a water presoak for 1 min.

A very beautiful image, I love the tones. The line showing the previous water level is scary. I wonder what will appear from the now uncovered mud?
