Colin,

You are an artist in the true sense of the word; always exploring new ways of expression. I wish I had the same guts!

I so love where you are coming from philosophically and technically. Tis a shame we live so far apart...............

Hello Avtar,
Many thanks for your visit and your question regarding the sale of prints. The short answer is that, yes, I sometimes make an archival giclée image (~200 years) on exhibition quality paper at the request of a buyer. I am happy to say that my prints are hanging in private homes and professional offices in the UK and Europe, Australia, Singapore, and the United States. Generally, the prints sizes are around 12x12 if square or 12x16 if rectangular, signed verso, and placed in signed and numbered mats usually about 18x24 (standard frame sizes). Of course, most images can be smaller or larger. I also will make special 'alternative process' prints on high quality cotton rag paper- ziatypes (palladium) - if desired.
We can talk specifics if you have an interest.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Colin

Hello Norman. Thanks for the note. I'm afraid I'm not that Colin you refer to in your inquiry. I'm an Aussie, and I have never been to Mykonos (although I have visited Greece). Good luck with your search.
Guest 29-Jan-2012 01:49
I am looking for a Colin Clarke that I met in Mykonos Greece in the mid 70's. He was a photographer from England. My name is Norman Sobel from Toronto Canada and Colin had wanted to photograph the 22 year old norman at that time. My e-mail is nsobel@trebnet.com

Hello Colin - I'm getting back into film and medium format and seeing your composition and technical skills is truly inspiring. Most helpful to me is that you take the extra time to provide the details of your processing. I just want to say that it's very generous of you to take the extra time to share this and that it is much appreciated.

Hi Colin- Thanks so much for you comments and appreciation of my galleries! It means a lot as I try to learn the ins and outs of photography. In the coming year I hope to create more on my own, it will be a true test of my abilities, as most of what I have featured has been with someone helping and teaching me along the way. Thanks again, lots more to come. Cheers!

Hello! I wandered over here after you left some very kind comments on several of my galleries today and I am totally awed -- some very fine work here. Having only recently come back to black & white after a long hiatus, it's great to see what you're doing with that medium. You obviously have a gift for seeing, as well as exquisite control of your equipment and process; great work!

Hello Colin. I just drooled over your gallery on Lisboa and Sintra. Outstanding images.
My question is: We live in the Azores and have been planning another trip to Lisboa but have never been to Sintra. How many days do you feel are necessary to really see this city? Thanks for your assistance. Roland

I enjoyed your philosophy on photgraphy and the meditative process. I mostly used 6x6cm film for 60 years and recently switched to digital. while I feel guilty about it sometimes I do enjoy the control over the final image. I was finding it dificult to "burn and dodge" in the dim light these the past few years so digital works well for me now.
Thank you for the kind comments on my photos.

I got a Agfa Clack in July 2008, so I was looking for examples of photographs shot from that camera. Nice shots.

Have to wait and see....probabley mostly the former.

your work is really great! iv always loved photography, my favorite photo of yours is the forest scene with the tents and old car. i just happened to discover your website by googling images of the college of charleston- which i will be attending in the future. Keep up the good work, and please send me any new photos that you would like to share!!!!

Colin - Thank you for pointing me to your meditative treasures. My hope would be that our paths cross someday. Certainly if you find yourself near San Francisco - I urge you to let me know.

I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area - and miss having easy access to The South. My dad was from Mississippi and so many a summer vacation had us heading that direction and I still return when I can. Your fine work has me homesick - in the best of ways.

So how and when did the Aussie find himself in the land of cotton?

Walk in joyous light - Stephen

Colin,
Thank you for visiting my galleries and leaving the nice comment about my image "Down Time".
I really like black and white, but don't do as much of it as I ought to. You've got some great B&W images in you galleries and I enjoyed looking through them all. I love your camera collection!
God Bless,
Greg

Hello Colin. After reading your 'way of photography' I enjoy your work even more. I have a great deal of respect for the 'slow' process of finding and creating. Many compliments! Regards, Sebas

Hello Mr. Clarke,
You're such a master in B&W photography. Your plates are very fine, especially the Black and White Gallery. Your printing technique is also superb. Also, your works are very dynamic which required great critical thinking. Please keep them coming. Best regards!

Hi Colin,
Thanks for visiting my galleries and for commenting on some of the images. I visited your galleries. They are great; you are a master in B&W. I will come back!
Hope you come back to my galleries and - if you like - leave a message in my guestbook.
Greetings,

Wonder galleries, Colin. There are, indeed, times, when I recall with fondness those times when I'd lug a field 4x5 about and come home with 4 or 5 photos, of which, perhaps one might be reasonably acceptable on a good day. Congratulations on fine work with great style in a grand tradition. You can certainly claim with veracity that none of these is the result of photography-by-accident/delete/shoot/delete/shoot/delete; etc. Great job. Thanks.

Hello Colin.I just look before your self portrait an Australian in Paris. All your pictures in BW/Sepia and also colour are very pleasant to watch slowly ,after I am quiet and happy;this sensation comes with the atmospher of your "colour" and shoot so particluary.Nice Job.

I love your photographs, very nice gallery, keep it up !
Guest 13-Sep-2007 05:33
I really like your style. It is obvious that you are careful and selective in how you go about making images. Very beautiful work! I look forward to visiting again soon.
Guest 12-Sep-2007 21:15
Colin you have a new 'fan'. I am enjoying your vast collection of truly superb monochrome images. Being a film guy as well, and actively working to capture images 'organicly' (as you put it) myself...its immensely inspiring to see a film based gallery with the depth and beauty that you have provided. Thank you for sharing your work. I shall be back frequently to further peruse your images.

I really enjoyed visiting your galleries.
They seem like a very good start, and I look forward to seeing further development.
I was impressed by what you wrote in your message. It was very interesting and enlightening.
I myself prefer using film. I wish I could use a medium-size camera with Zeiss lenses, the quality of which is suitable for my type of work.
Unfortunately, I find it hard to handle the medium-size camera without a tripod, and that is a limitation I'm not ready to take.
Well, I guess one can't have it all…
Guest 30-Jul-2007 04:52
Ahh, a throwback....and what a pleasure it is indeed to find your galleries. You make me want to take out my old Minolta Autocord, buy some 120 B&W film and burn off a few 12 exp rolls. It's been a while since I used her. Due time, I expect. Thanks for the compliment on my Gorgas Hall shot. Actually, the university campus would be ideally suited for a medium format experience.
