One of Tang San Feng’s disciples, the Monkey “God” (in the novel Journey to the West), was finally able to put the fire out but the reddish formations remain until now. The formations contain oxidized iron-rich minerals, which glow red, especially at sunset. Sadly, I had to make it do during the day under harsh lighting conditions.
