This is the old harbor dating back from even before the Dutch colonial time. Now, it is used to load or unload goods transported on smaller boats travelling within the Indonesian archipelago some 3-4 days away from the harbor. Sometimes, the goods are unloaded from boats using a small crane where manual labors stack them up on trucks. But we saw situation where the goods are carried manually, one sack or two each time up to the waiting boat. We saw quite a bit of foreign tourists at this location that seems to be a popular spot for photography.
