Thanks Rekha. The map does show 7 states with Virginia and Kentucky in the same direction. The accuracy of the map, however, is in question (See the notes at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_City).

Thanks for posting the answer to my quandry about which 7 states one could possibly see from Rock City. I remember that slogan from the time I took a spiffy motor car trip all the way from Michigan to Florida in 1953 and I couldn't remember which states it refers to even after the many times I've been atop Lookout Mountain since my daughter has lived there.
