I think it would look better if the flower were a little larger, the fern on the left and the pads behind do take the eye away. I'd also put the flower slightly closer to the middle. I know it's on the thirds but that's based on the golden rectangle where the intersections are slightly closer.

The flower is so clear and sharp, but the frond on the left is very distracting to me.A differnt cropping would improve a terrific image of the water lily.

Pam, I have to agree with what Nanacy and Kelly have said, pretty much. I love the colour and clarity of the water lily, and I really like the blurring of the leaves around it which draws my eye to the flower. But, I think the fern frond is distracting and I would be interested to see the image with that cropped out.

Pam, this is a nice image, but not outstanding... I think that would say just what Nancy has... in addition the reflection on the lower leaf is also distracting as well as the fern leaf on the left... I think that I would ask you to repost the link that you sent earlier to the blue lilly... I thought that it was very nice, even though half of it was in shadow... just my thoughts.

Pam, I like the color of the lily and the dramatic black of the water. Also the bit of blue and the small leaves in the lower right corner. I am bothered but the large mass of the leaf and frond on the left side. They draw my eye away from the lily. I think I would like to see a crop with the lily in upper - left side
