A popular swimming area for local kids
who are not daunted by the trek around
the point to get to the private harbor that
is a part of the Doris Duke's estate Shangri La.

As a teenager many an afternoon was spent hiking
around the point to get to the private harbor so
we could swim. The threat of arrest for trespassing
made the visits all the more fun. Today's kids are
a lot more blatant in their visits but I doubt that
they have more fun than we did 50 years ago.
