Proboscis Monkey (Nasalis larvatus)

Took these magnificent pot belly creature at Sg Klias Wetlands, Beaufort Sabah, Malaysia. These graceful creatures can only be found in the island of Borneo. Fed mostly with fruits and young shoots. Their belly is huge due to slow digestion of food since they have several parts of stomach. Therefore, most of the time they would spend their time eating. There is only one species of proboscis monkey i.e Nasalis Lavartus species. Did you know that they are the only monkey family that can swim, where other monkey family are afraid of water?

Anyway, we rode a boat and be as quiet as possible to approach them. All of the shots were taken on a boat.
