I have been there only once and I have already felt in love with it. It is such a unique place that I was unable to imagine before I had been there last summer.

Lin on another pbase you asked the question about why the 100-400L was more comfortable to use then the 400 F 5.6. I owned both and here is an evaluation. The 100-400L was more comfortable because it has IS and is more hand holdable. You can zoom from 100 to 400 mm. the 400 F 5.6 is better for some because it is slightly sharper at 400mm ( not that much to stop from buying the 100-400) I had the 100-400 and the reason I sold it for the 400 f 5.6 is the ability to use extenders. It is as sharp with the 1.4X as it is without and you loose some sharpness but not much with the 2X. most time it has to be used on a tripod because it has no IS, but it allows me to get close to my subject. Hope that answers your question.
