Meteora, Greece, September 2005

Meteora, which in Greek means
"hanging from above" is the source for the English word "meteor". The beauty and
uniqueness of this place in northern Greece has no parallel in the world.
Ancient monasteries hanging on top of enormous erect rock cliffs are scattered
throughout this geologically stunning area.
