The beggar

You're down and out, now why is it?
Is it because of the child within,
Or was your crime a mortal sin?

You looked so pitiful in a pitiless crowd
And your silent eyes cried out so loud.
It hurt my heart to see the way
The animals just passed you by.
When finally I stopped to think, I
Realised that so did I.
But why?

Was it because I did not trust
Your reasons for asking us?
Or am I just as heartless as
The others in this circus?

It's got my vote too. I like the contrast between the telephone and the rest of the image. I like the poem, too.

Powerful photo. Very good colours and light. Excellent picture. It makes you think.

Great poem. Did you wrte it? I like the use of monochrome. It makes her blend into the rest of the image, less noticable. As your poem implies, that's how most people see her anyway. Love the orange phone. Great job on this sad story.

A very good shot with excellent sepia tones. The selective coloring really gives this shot pop. I like the lighting in this.

Everything about this works. It's a powerful capture and the toning really adds to it. I liked the poem too.

Pretty powerful image. The lighting really ads to the poignancy as does your colouring effects. Great stuff.

Amazing photo ... I like how you've monochromed the entire photo except for the phone.. taken what could look like a scene from old and brought forth with bright color the one modern looking thing in the image. Nicely done. I like the tones you have here... excellent
