My Father - In Memoriam

My Father, Myer Richman, was diagnosed with secondary lung and liver cancer and was admitted to hospital for tests to find the primary source of the disease. The day defore he died he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. These photos were taken during his final days. He passed away on the 11th February, 2004 (19th Shevat 5764, the Jewish date), surrounded by my mother, brother, sister and myself. As we chanted the words of the Shema Yisrael - "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, The Lord is One" his soul left this world. He was 88 years old and the sweetest and most gentle man I ever knew. He loved and was loved by everyone who knew him.
I miss him with all my heart - Meir ben Avraham Abba - may his soul rest in peace.
(My father was very involved in many volunteer activities in his last years here in Israel, so I decided to perpetuate his memory by becoming a volunteer ambulance driver and medic with Magen David Adom, Israel's ambulance service. I took me two years to do it and every shift I do and every case I go out on, I do in his memory. I think he would be proud of me. This is my way of dealing with his passing. Today 25th April 2006 - 27 Nissan 5766 - I finally finished the course)
