This is a two-liter 906 based twin-plug competition engine, with the correct 901/25 Magnesium crankcase https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935061 and all. The 914-6 GT headers https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935133 are excellent reproductions https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/127065110, but not so is the GT rally muffler and two megaphone extensions https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935089 these are in fact factory original components.
In the middle bottom-center of this photo https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935078 you will note the 906 serviceable racing oil filter in place of the usual engine oil cooler, an unusual move in a mid-engine 914-6 GT since you're actually trying to get as much cooling as possible. When using a racing oil filter https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/57479568 in a mid-engine application such as the 914-6, replacing the BEHR engine oil cooler may not be a good idea. I'm torn myself about whether to use the racing oil filter in the same configuration.
