This is a two-liter 906 based twin-plug competition engine, with the correct 901/25 Magnesium crankcase http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935061 and all. The 914-6 GT headers http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935133 are excellent reproductions http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/127065110, but not so is the GT rally muffler and two megaphone extensions http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935089 these are in fact factory original components.

In the middle bottom-center of this photo http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/119935078 you will note the 906 Grenade-type serviceable racing oil filter, an unusual move in a mid-engine 914-6 GT since you're actually trying to get all the air-cooling you can get. When using one of these now very rare oil racing filters http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/57479568 in a mid-engine 914-6, it replaces the factory BEHR engine oil cooler which is actually not a good idea. I'm too torn about the decision to use, or not to use this racing oil filter in the same engine application.
