-10/19/07- We started this section of the project. There are 8 separate reinforcement pieces that make up the windshield frame reinforcemsnts, four on each side consisting of one top piece http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/87578900 and three bottom reinforcement pieces http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/87765943. All four pieces http://www.pbase.com/image/87765945 will be first welded in place and later seamed welded together as one making the whole area very strong.

Note that each reinforcement was hand-made to custom-fit the contour http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/87578885 of the windshield body pillar section of the 914 http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/87509613. A much thicker material was used http://www.pbase.com/image/87507198 to really do a good job at reinforcing the pillar. More work and costs, but certainly worth it.
