"914-6 GT" part rescued!!! Believe it or not! These GT seat-rails found their way into a 1967 Mini-Cooper. How? Well, here is the story. Years ago, at a Pomona Swapmeet, the owners of the Mini-Cooper purchased a pair of 914-4 seats and unfortunately, there was only one set of 914-6 GT seat-rails attached to one of the 914 seats (BTW, this is the second time I find a pair of 914-6 GT seat-rails that are, well, not quite complete!) The owner of the Mini-Cooper then adapted the GT seat-rails to their car by fabricating a bracket.

Also, I would like to share with you all exactly how I came across Alex and Eric at the Dunkel's Porsche Swap Meet. At around 7:45 a.m., while making my rounds to talk to each and every one of the Porsche Parts vendors, I walked to one of the vendors in particular and proceeded to ask if they had ever seen the pair of "seat-rails" I held in my hand. The swap-meet vendor replied that he had never seen anything like it in his entire life (very encouraging!). Who was standing next to me at that "very précised moment"? A father and son (Eric and Alex Singer) who proceeded to tell me that they had a set of those seat-rails installed in their 67' Mini-Cooper. I could not believe my ears and I asked; What did you say? Are you sure you have these seat-rails? Maybe the rails you guys have sort of look like these? Alex again confirmed that he had those very seat-rails I held in my hand. Needless to say, I was not going to start an argument with Alex and I promptly wrote down my email address and telephone numbers and asked them to please email me some photos as soon as they got home, and they did! The rest? Well, is now history... ;)

I want to express my sincere thanks to the owners of that wonderful 67' Mini-Cooper for selling me the 914-6 GT seat-rail pair. Keep in mind that these guys had to remove the rails from their car to accomodate me. Thank you Eric and Alex for being so understanding! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
