I located an early 914 'NOS' VDO Euro Speedometer https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/145392950 on eBay and was very lucky to win that auction. The date-code is 'Jan 78' https://pbase.com/image/153633158 and the part number reads 914.641.504.020 https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/153633154 (I'm not exactly sure what the 0007 represents to the right of the p/n).

It appears the gauge was dropped at some point and the bezel was dented https://pbase.com/image/153633154 it will have to be replaced. The gauge will also be service and calibrated at the same time to make sure all is functioning as it should.
