Hello Ernie,

I’m a fan of your amazing knowledge about the 911 R and I’m always delighted with all the photos that you’ve put on line.
I’m currently trying to build an R clone using my 911S 1967 (VIN 305947 , very close to R1)
One difficult part is the electrical circuit (complete wire harness) which is different from the normal 911S.
Would you accept to send me the drawings( pic) of this R wire harness that is on line (Pbase) but that I cannot print or copy
I Thank you in advance
Best regards
Jean-Dominique

just a minor mistake on a couple pics you might want to change - "sportomatic, winner of the Marathon de la Route, 22-26 July 1967"

it was actually - 22-26 AUGUST 1967

What a great site
Cris Huergas - Gruppemeister 07-Aug-2006 15:53
I also want to clarify something about the future of this website. Ernie does have plans to bring it back sometime soon with new added features and as he described, a feature story on building a project 911R (or maybe the long awaited restoration of his Euro 67S or the overdue completion of his sports purpose project 73 911T/R/S/L, whatever it ends up being, it'll be a bonafide R GRUPPE car)

Access will be through the use of special password randomly changed and will be limited to registered guest and R Gruppe members.

Surprised to learn from Ernie a couple of days ago when we got together for our monthly R Gruppe meet at EASY that he took down many of the photos from this website. Seems that a few entrepeuner decided to copy some of the published tech and parts manuals from here, only to market it for profit. Its too bad that these same self serving individuals saw a business opportunity here and took it upon themselves to use those same images taken directly from this website to enrichen themselves financially. They may have profited financially but it showed their obvious lack of ethics and respect for the hard work and energy Ernie have invested in putting this informative website for many of us to enjoy and gain knowledge from. Shame on them.

Hey Ernie! Keep us informed once your new site is on-line. ajserrano@msn.com

By the way, my 911 RSR and 914-6 GT sites will also be relocated to a new dedicated website and server which will allow the posting and viewing of video and sound clips. It will be structured and designed for better navigation. It will take over a year but well worth the effort. PBase served us well.

I hope you're keeping all the comments, entries from all your past visitors. It will take time, but you could re-enter them in a new log. A shame to see it all go. ;)

Funny, not all that many people comment here. There is a LOT of comment in the avid 911 oriented online groups. Ernie- it is wonderful that you share this info with everyone. I still remember the rare stuff you shared with us that first time at Cris' garage. I was overwhelmed! I don't know if I ever said a proper thank you but THANK YOU.

Hi Ernie, thanks for the lot of pictures. I know how difficult it is, to find original cars to shoot. If you want to have some pictures from my car please mail to me.
I have some interesting porsches in germany. One is the most original 2.5 ST from 71.
It is the german rallye master from 1977. This car has driven about 150 races from Dez 71-may 1982. Its an original works ST. Now this car is used for historical rallies and races. In Nov 2003 Walter Röhrl the former world rallye champion started on this car. Nowaday he and Jürgen Barth, the 13 times le mans crack and now porsche motorsport customer manager, will share the volant.
Best regards Chris Stahl

This website is really becoming one of the most talked about 911 website. The ever expanding collection of detailed photos and literature on the 911R and other sports purpose models which you've been continually building up will inspire many of us to keep owning, driving, fixing, improving and enjoying our beloved 911s.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and resources with those of us who shares those same passion.
