Thanks for the memories, I was assigned to Tiger Flight Dec 69 - Dec 70...my first solo post was a K-9 post off base on a dirt road (a K-9 was sick) so they put me out there alone. I wasn't walking that road with a full moon...so I cleared a spot in the elephant grass to keep and eye on the road...a few months later I became the Senior Controller in the ABD control room..got a K-9 alert on that same post..sent K-Sat out with backup...it was a snake alert...they killed a 20+ footer and brought it in to control. I still think about laying in that grass all night. Remember all the snake skins in the section. I envy your trip. I would like to go back and see what the country is like now. Anyway I ended up making it a career and retired in 1996 as a CMSgt. It was a good ride. No regrets. Thanks for your great site! David L. Butler, CMSgt. Ret
