I was sent the link to SSgt Long's participation in the Nemo Memorial at Lackland. I knew Mike when he was just an A1C in Saudi, he was on my shift, I too was an EDD handler at the time. I left and we lost contact. I am glad the OP posted this comment about Mike, as I had no idea. It saddens me to know that he is no longer with us. He was a great guy, and a great handler. I miss you Mike. <3

Mike Long, my friend, died on September 3, 2007, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Florida. We shared many wonderful times together, calling each other out on "BS" matters. I miss him dearly and he was a gentle man and great dog handler. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace. Bill Cummings
