Glad I found this site. I was at NKP 65-66 also. I worked at the base power plant. I remenber how small the base was when I got there. I remenber taking a small generator into town for the mayors daughters wedding to a Thai officer, at a tennis court that had on power.

I was at NKP from Sept 65 till Feb 66, a 20 year old buck Sgt "Air Bear" I was sent up TDY from my unit at Takhli (maybe it was non-judicial punishment) There were only 95 total personnel on site. I made the number of Security Police go up to 10 total. Have many good memories of the place, had a chance to meet the pilots and PJs who were doing one hell of a job.. We had three or four "nit noy" planes, two jolly greens and four AIE Sandys.. My best memories was meeting the aircrews returning from a rescue and hearing "first hand" about their experiences.. We had many true heros there and we didn't realize we were going to be a part of history.. Thanks for the great photos of the early days..
