After You're Gone ~ January 16, 2009

Home, Here in My Heart

"There'll be laughter even after you're gone.
I'll find reasons to face that empty dawn.
I've memorized each line in your face,
and not even death can ever erase
the stories they tell to me.

"I'll miss you.....oh how I'll miss you.
I'll dream of you; I'll cry a million tears.
But the sorrow will pass
and the one thing that will last,
is the love that you've given to me."

"There'll be laughter even after you're gone.
I'll find reasons, and I'll face that empty dawn.
Because I've memorized each line in your face,
and not even death could ever erase
the story they tell to me."

How do you say goodbye to the furry little man who has slept beside you everyday for the past five years? You cried for me every morning when I left you, and you greeted me with purry kisses every evening when I returned. Even to the end, when you were not even able to walk, your final act was to pull your weak body up a flight of stairs just to lie next to me one last time. How blessed am I to finally know just what truly unconditional love is....it is the heart of my dear, dear blue himmie....my handsome man....my sweetheart who proved the truth of "love at first sight." I loved you from the first, Simon, as you loved me. You brought me such joy, you little man with the smiling whiskers.

Sorry to read about the loss of your friend. We have lost several cats in our lifetime, and their is no replacing them in that particular part of your heart. We always have others which help fill the void. He made that last climb very valiently!! He was a very handsome fellow. Peace...,and laughter. Ken
