I am unsure as to the identity of this downy seedhead growing wild among the dead goldenrod at Montezuma's Towpath Road. A broader view follows. It appears to me to be some sort of wild clematis like one of NY's Virgin Bowers, but the seedheads seem denser and fluffier than those that I've seen in the past. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
