Spider DOF expt
This (and the next two shots) were experiments aimed at improving the depth of focus of a macro image. The same image was taken 6 times with the only difference being the focal depth. The images were then modified such that the out of focus sections were set to high transparency in a gradient towards the sharp regions. The six images were then stacked and flattened/combined. The intended result was a macro image which is sharp throughout the range of the subject despite the fact that the subject is not in a shallow depth plane with respect to the lens. I'm not totally happy with the result, but one amusing thing about this process is, that it gives the impression that the subject is about the size of a chicken rather than being able to fit on a quarter.
