This is a bit of a dumb gallery but with all this new extra space (Thanks Slug) I thought I'd use a bit of it up. I was asked if I could digitally modify an El Camino to show what the car would look like with the trim gone, repainted in various colors and with and without a cowl induction hood, as the owner was possibly considering these changes. So I took a few snaps and spent a little time using Corel Photopaint 8.0. First I removed the clutter from the background with a little cloning and pasting (didn't spend too long on that as it wasn't really necessary or relevant to the project, but I did remove the now aberrant reflection from the hood), then I constructed the cowl induction hood and removed the side trim with a combination of the cloning and paint brush tools. I saved various versions along the way (actually I inadvertently saved over the very original shot after I'd partly changed the background, however I still have a near identical shot which I have included for comparison). After this it was just a case of masking (and saving these masks to use again as tools) and adjusting saturation, color balance and hue and sometimes over pasting with transparency to get some of the later versions. At this stage with these tools created it took relatively little effort to generate further variations. Here's a few examples of the images created. The last few designs US flag, re-entry, and camo-camino were done just for fun and very quickly as the flame pattern and stars etc were just drawn in freehand (hence their irregular nature). If I'd wanted to do those better I'd have made them first in CorelDraw, changed their perspective and then imported them. The very last file is an animation compiled by Erich Mangl from the above files, it takes a little time to load but any El Camino fan will think its worth the wait.
