A new ‘gumbo’ clay surface is in place at Senoia Raceway. The second year promoter team of Bill Massey, Mayes Massey and Doug Stevens half year research for a better surface on their 3/8ths mile bull ring has been laid down with a half foot of gray gumbo found in south central Georgia. The clay is sticky to touch and bonds together better than the clay used for the past several seasons.

“We trucked it in from south Georgia” explained Mayes Massey. “This stuff has very high clay content with hardly any sand or mica. Our main goal is to reduce dust and hopefully it will also provide multi-groove better racing.”
