Welcome to the 202nd Military Police Company. Dedicated to the past and present members of this storied unit. The 202nd served in France, UK, North Africa, Italy, Austria, France, Fort Sheridan, IL, Giessen, West Germany, Iraq (WWI, WWII, Cold War, Op. Provide Comfort and the War On Terror), and CONTINUES to serve today. The following pictures from their Cold War/West Germany service, were submitted by veterans of the unit.

hey !! thanks for the great pictures !! i´m german, live near frankenberg! i remember, when i went shopping to gießen , my grandparenets lived there, i see every time in the shopping mile, selters weg, gi´s ! now - the gießen post is closed - i´m so sad !! now i´m 38 jears old, but i remember all the time - reforger exercises, the river barakks, the pendelton barrks !! my aunt works at the gießen depot, till 1995 !! please update pictures from gießen !! greatings

Outstanding website, fantastic photos! What memories! Although I wasn't a Tower Rat, we were a distance cousin at my unit, the 109th MP Platoon (designated as a Detachment in '78)in Frankfurt. We were the "Palace Guards" at V-Corps HQ at the Abrams Building. I was there from '77-'79, and we were stuck on 12-hour shifts throughout my tour of duty, due to staffing shortages and the ever-present terrorist threat from our buddies at the Baader-Meinhof Gang (I've got that same poster!). Some of our guys had previous tours as Tower Rats, and the burnout they suffered, and the stories they told, were a clear indication as to how challenging your duties were as Tower Rats (and that's an understatement). You guys truly earned your pay and deserve a lot of respect from the rest of us 95-Bravos. Best wishes to you and all your buds...

Hi. I remember visiting my brother in WF in 84. I took a hike through the woods and found the site of the old German barracks. Brought back some (broken) dinnerware and a sample of their barbed wire. Also found the old Jewish cemetery from the times that WF was a camp for Displaced Persons following WWII

I spent most of my youth in Germany I was a dependant playing alot of DYA sports My dad had three tours in Germany, I was born there my mom is a local. I can remember riding the train all over. We lived in Bad Nauheim the last time I went to school in Frankfurt (Drake edwards Kassern). Played DYA football agaist Giessen, Fulda, and Butzbach Hung out alot at the local guerst haus...there were alot of young GI's and their girl friends......most were in the army. I was 13-14 at the time but could pass for 17-18 most of these army girls were 18-20.......mmmmm those were the good ole days... I had alot of fun back then... got into alot of trouble....the MPs were really cool.....I hardley ever got turn into my dad....they usally brought me home and let me go. had alot of firsts in germany first beer, first cig, first hang over, first girl, ect. i lived in germany on and off from 1965 to 1980

hello. here is Henk from Holland i've been from 1980 till 1991 several times in butzbach,giessen and Fulda as a visitor trading dutch militairy stuff against Us stuff i stayed with my family at Lt smith's house on a 4th of juli and we had a bbq. Lt smith was a very religous man ? no tv no drinking or smoking greetings from Henk
