WINTER BARN
FEBRUARY 2007 LARRY DAVID BRADEN

WINTER BARN

SAND BEACH MICHIGAN

I don't remember this particular farm's entire land.
Some farms in Michigan have modern barns
on the property not far from these old ones.
For some reason they let these fall down on their own.
I think this is in Sand Beach.

Well, no, but this is just the tip of the barn. The real barn is under the snow and when Spring comes you will be able to see it.
Welcome to Michigan.

Does this winter barn disappear when spring comes around?

A barn that has seen better days. Nice capture.

Isn't that just like life? No matter how big your barn is, stuff just keeps pushing its way out the back. I would like to contain it like the neat little building in your shot, but I'm fated to live more like the barn.

Yeah, I see the thumb, but this time the symbolism had a stronger draw than the pun. I like the image very much. I don't think it could have been as strong in any other season. The isolation of the snow and winter sky is what makes it work for me.

little building on the right deserves its own photo - a nice image - you show the decay of old US - maybe one should consider this side as well before taking the 'all possibilities' line very seriously...

Is it possible they grow snow peas?
Tricia26-Feb-2007 01:30
How do they GET to the crop is my question...... big machine required to raise the ex-roof
1moremile26-Feb-2007 00:23

Tricia25-Feb-2007 23:58
