I like the photo very much, but after trying to follow the critical analysis of Frost below, I think it might be way too esoteric for me. That must have been one heavy rain.

It's richly deserved. ;^)

Let me clarify something. I was playing with the poet's comment. It didn't come across very well, but here's what I actually think:

1. This is really a great photo! I enjoy the composition, the colors, and the leading lines of the fence.

2. Good fences DO make good neighbors -- they keep us all where we belong.

3. That said, I've lived next to bad neighbors, who would NOT cooperate on fence maintenance. Therefore my belief that good neighbors make (build, maintain, repaint, repair, etc.) good fences.

All in all, what I should simply have said is this is a terrific photo, because it is!

And I voted for it, btw...

wonderful fall colors !

I stand corrected, Gary. It's the poets that should think before they write. I should know enough to listen to a writer.........

Love this.
Gary Winters26-Oct-2006 01:44
No, I meant what I said. Bad neighbors never make good fences; they try to stick you with the bill, they don't maintain them, etc. Good neighbors make great fences!
