MY BIGGEST FEAR

Standing in the pouring rain I can't even look into the lens.
I am only 57. My biggest fear is that by the time I
turn 150 I will look like I am 175.
Update: I just got back my DNA results.
I am 92% leprechaun,
6% Shar-pei and
2% gristle.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nice SP, Larry and I hope you are feeling better now than 8 years ago about your age and look :)

Nice SP by a young man. Maybe you need glasses to see where the camera is.
John Cooper22-Nov-2009 21:09
I have so many fears, I could not possibly work out which one is the biggest.
Still never mind eh.

The longest life is still made up of one day at a time, even if they get shorter, of course my camera only registers the long ones. I still get a kick, looking at the old days when they where in printed form. Which had longer days to scan them. :) I know, it probably has no sense, but I try to get the most of the short nights.

Excellent portrait! Very nice skin.

Even worse than waking up in a place that does not exist is waking up in Alexandria, Virginia. I'm old enough to understand this. Persons who are merely 59 have much learning ahead of them.

Larry, I am 59 and almost as old as Beedon. I don't worry about it, either. I have enjoyed my life and hope to enjoy it as long as I have it. My biggest fear is waking up in a place that no longer exists.

How can that possibly scare you? You're already on the horrible west coast.
Dave Beedon21-Nov-2006 22:07
My biggest fear is being re-assigned to Michigan.
Matylda Lempel-Chareza Photography04-Sep-2006 06:00

Your looking like a man with the determination to take the best self-portrait Pbase has ever posted. Worry not L.B, your a fine particle of pbase matter.
Jill21-Aug-2006 01:57
Intelligent facial expression, one cannot see that you are having difficulty focusing...it happens to the best of us.

Now as for getting old..that happens too. The only thing that urkes me is my inability for control. But if I may be so bold, you are a very nice looking person with very few lines..you need more, it shows charactor.

Quotes were from me... I didn't realize I was in papa jim's sign on
Guest 21-Aug-2006 00:38

My biggest fear?
That one day I might run out of image capacity.
:^O
1moremile20-Aug-2006 12:22
Wow. I hope you know I am kidding. I used to care. I don't anymore. Why should I? And I don't eat bananas so they don't scare me, either, CG.
cg 20-Aug-2006 12:10
I had a friend who was worried about getting old and looking older than he was. That fear was put to a halt when he slipped on a bananna peel, broke his neck and died. He worried all for nothing.

Larry, when John says "Trust me" that is the last thing you should do. His grades in Empathy and Sensitivity 101 set a new standard---at the wrong end of the spectrum (I got this straight from Professor Listorama, who is in deep cover). Ironically, that performance is the kind of thing that has enabled him to rise to a position of power and influence on The Team. His skill at deception makes him a much-needed element in repelling The Evil Hoards That Would Subjugate Us, but he cannot be relied upon as a credible source of sympathy. It’s best that you know the truth, even though it is not pretty.
1moremile19-Aug-2006 21:14
Trust me, John, I am never offended at anything you say. I know you are kidding about me not looking over fifty.
John Cooper19-Aug-2006 20:18
Larry, I might have inadvertently left a few comments on my previous comment that should have been removed.
I did not mean it, trust me.
Dave, will confirm my honesty, trust him.
John Cooper19-Aug-2006 20:14
Larry, you do not look a day over 50.
Memo to self, that should make him feel better.
Memo 2, only if believes that crap.
Dave Beedon19-Aug-2006 19:39
Larry, John is right: your logic is off. Maybe a slight 240-volt brain adjustment will do the trick. Worry not: you look fine, and by the time you reach 150, you won't look a day older than 130. Trust me (phrase used with permission of JVC).
Doug Kessler19-Aug-2006 19:23
I'm 57 also. My biggest fear is that I already look 175 : )
Agree with John. Your photo is far better than your logic.
Wei O'Connell19-Aug-2006 18:45
Agree with John. Great self-portrait.
John Cooper19-Aug-2006 18:35
