The Mount Clemens Historical Commission says a notable feature of 10 N. Main is a "military motif depicting stone figures of an Indian, World War GI, sailor, marine, solider and a flyer and mountain goat heads jutting out."

Military mountain goats? Next on Geraldo.

I agree with Soenda. I believe it has something to do with your state's heritage. She mentioned the Native American. One looks like an explorer and the other a priest. Don't know about the ram's head if that's what it is. I first thought it was a bison but don't know how to zoom in on it from this site.

I can make out one of the heads to be a native american, and the one of the sunny side seems to be a sailor. I bet they're there as memorials to the people who helped build and protect the state. The ram's head is anybody's guess. It's ironic to see this very distinctive architecture from the 1920s (that's just a guess), with all the ultra modern antennas on top. I appreciate your pairing this shot up with the one before. They make a lot of sense together.

Only if you are trying to disguise your super powers.

Hey guys...actually, the Los Angeles City Hall building was the original Daily Planet Building in THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN starring George Reeves. But it does bear a resemblance to it, though.

P.S. Sheesh...even *I* do two-fingered typing...does this mean I'm actually better at something than Superman?

I think it is. And jeepers, I think Mr. Kent is in his office doing some one-finger typing.

Great Caesar's ghost! I wonder if Perry White's office is behind one of those windows...

I don't know Dave, my first thought was "water nice gallery this iz"
1moremile04-Jun-2006 23:20
It is in this gallery because the previous photo refers to it as a close-up.

I'm sure I'll never know. Maybe I made a a mistake.
Dave Beedon23-May-2006 06:53
By the way, why is this shot in the "Water" gallery?
1moremile07-Apr-2006 22:50
I always feel like I am being watched when I go through here.

I don't know the reason, but they make the building interesting. Here's hoping they don't roll anywhere.
