Pat has my back while I scrape the mud off.
We made the play-offs that year but I don't
remember if we took it all or not.
What I do remember is it was a blast.
Softball was my passion.
I remember a "home run" hit WAY, WAY over
my head that season. I ran like a mad man
trying to catch it. Then a miracle--wind stopped it
and I DID catch it. What a great feeling to catch
that. I didn't comment on how the wind stopped it.
Luck. But I went home feeling a hero while our coach
begged me to stay and have a beer wile he gloated
on our win, but I had no part of that.
