That's my brother. We drove out to a tree farm. It wasn't cheaper that I remember but taking the kids was fun. They still remember the family stuff and that's what counts. I think they will do the same with the grandkids.
Your story reminds me of my bro-in-law who waited till the Dec. 23 hoping to get a cheap tree. He got one. It looked like a tumbleweed.
I assume that this is a Christmas tree scene and that the mighty woodsman has secured the family tree. Success takes many forms. One year (mid-80s I think) my wife and I waited until Christmas Eve afternoon to get a tree. By then the nearest tree lot was abandoned for the year and we had our "pick of the litter" at no cost. If one is a cheapskate or a procrastinator (or both!), that can be called success.
