Asclepias quadrifolia
(Four-Leaf Milkweed)

Home

This is an easy one to overlook. From 12-20 inches
tall with a single (usually unbranched) stalk. Its
undoubtedly the most delicate Milkweed found in TN.
Look for the whirl of four upper leaves near the
terminal umbel blooms (1-3). Found blooming in the
upland woods and woodland borders from April through
June usually hidden by the undergrowth.

I don't have eyes open enough, because I had never noticed the 4 leaves before. Thanks for opening my eyes!
