Bent

April 1

Home

I am a little bent but not broken. Things have gotten
progressively harder to piece neatly together. The cost
of living has just continued to climb as transportation
costs skyrocket. Trying to keep a tight belt to keep my
family going on a single income is cutting off the flow
of blood to my brain. I would not have it any other way
than to have April at home with Ellie and the future baby
coming this week but it does have me a bit bent for now.

As I enter into this final month of PaD year three, it is
a certainty that I will at least have to take a break from
the fun and challenge for a while. I just simply need to
take the time to analyze the direction of my photography
and consider the options on increasing the family income.
I'm looking forward to this final month as it is akin to
seeing the finish line after a long marathon run. Cheers!

I felt much the same as you when our second daughter was born 46 years ago.
We survived and so will you and April, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
Best wishes.

Best wishes, Scott! Carol and Laine have expressed my feelings very well! You have the strength, love and support of a wonderful family and a loving God. My favorite Bible passage and one that I've relied on when I was single and poor was in Matthew:

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Three things are important & soon to be four...the rest is cream that can be skimmed off if it has to be. The toughest times can however turn out to be the best...good luck Scott.

Keep the faith Scott! Someone far greater than us has it all in His hands. You'll be fine, just follow His lead and you can't go wrong!!

Of course you reminded me of one of my favorite songs by Matchbox 20...

If I fall along the way
Pick me up and dust me off
And if I get too tired to make it
Be my breath so I can walk...

I cannot imagine you not being a part of the daily grind here on pbase. But, there is life outside of this world, right!? LOL! Enjoy that new baby and take of that beautiful family.
