Light Box XXIV

January 7

Harpeth River (Kingston Springs, TN)

This is the third image processed in Lightroom and & another RAW capture
easily converted with this program. Impressions about Adobe Lightroom...

- I love the smooth and easy transition from RAW to finished.
- Truly amazing tone curve control with pointer slider to any
point within the image. EXCELLENT!!!
- Sharpening and noise control all within one slider group!
- Superb file viewing and cataloguing.
- Algorithms for the USM tool and black point vary from PS.

I still am using PS CS2 to make the final adjustments by using a Channel
Mixer Adjustment Layer to convert to B&W and resizing for the internet.
I just can't make myself work in greyscale to convert to B&W but I may
try one both ways for comparison at a with an image later.

Gorgeous image with several points of interest. I love the old stone and the lines of the structure as well as the beautiful reflection in the water. vote~

hmmm thanks for the tips. still only using ps7. thinking about my options of upgrading (though i feel rather wasteful because i mainly only do very basic pp).

The rendering of the water, and its black aspect, are fantastic. I'm only using my little PS Element...

I like Lightroom a lot also.
I started with a beta version and then upgraded when it was released

A proper bridge, just like I used to make with Meccano! (showing age)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meccano
As for b&w conversion - really must get you to ditch channel mixture, mind you, if you do you will spend more time processing and less time commenting!
