Rock and Lace

June 16

Pegram, Tennessee

One last shoot with the Canon EF 20-35 f/3.5-4.5 USM since it's on the blocks at Ebay. Soon to be replaced by the Canon EF 17-40 f/4 USM L. Do I really want to sell it?

Well this is a remarkable photo, but I don't think it was the lense that shot it....you'll get great photos with the new lense too....the photos are in your eye and technical skill, not in the lense. I agree, this gets a vote.

Scott, superlatively well done. The 3D effect is great and the exposure perfect on a technically very difficult shot. Vote.

Very pretty shot, Scott. The rocky background is really cool.

Scott,
I like this very much. Excellent contrast of delicate textures against the strength of the rock. The sky color adds a nice touch. If you get the 17-40, you might want to try a really cool filter... the Cokin blue- yellow polarizer. It gives an interesting effect for landscapes.

Wow, one of my favorites of yours yet - the lighting, sky, and rocks create a dreamy, surreal mood (and the lace is dreamy to begin with). My psych major (coming back to haunt me) says that if you came up with this on your last shoot with the lens, you really don't want to sell it :) gmv!
